Nitrile rubber has a very strong polarity and is generally not very compatible with other polymers, but it has good compatibility with highly polar polymers such as neoprene, modified phenolic resin, polyvinyl chloride, etc., especially with chlorine-containing polymers, and is often used in combination. In addition, in order to improve processability and performance, nitrile rubber is also often used in combination with non-polar rubbers such as natural rubber, styrene-butadiene rubber, and cis-butadiene rubber. It should be noted that nitrile rubber is characterized by good oil resistance, and there is a tendency to reduce oil resistance when used with other polymers (except polyvinyl chloride).
